I see art as a constant process of thought and aesthetics.
Within my practice performance, writing, and drawing form the core of this process and create the physical output. The generation of objects, actions, images, scenes…
Writing and drawing are often integrated into the performance to give the actions a context and develop a relationship between the elements. I intentionally leave space for decision-making within a performance environment keeping the focus of the work on the creative process.
The work often uses durational and endurance actions, but intentionally not macho or aggressive. These are often quiet and simple with an emphasis on reaching a state of emptiness or weakness, and forming an unusual aesthetic.
Recurring images and themes run through my works. Each work existing as part of an ongoing investigation. My work appears to be about Gender, physical limitations, love and loss, and quietness.
