Sound is invisible, travelling in waves through the world. As technology progresses sound is now becoming intangible also. With digital technology, LED's and LCD screens are now the means by which we connect with sound, the physical objects are becoming obsolete.

Through my own work I am trying to explore the ambient nature of sound. Finding ways to effect the emotional state through noise, some taken from everyday life, other created on a laptop. I am interested in the way in which this and our surroundings can create experiences not always possible through single 2d or 3d pieces.

I believe that through working with analogue technology I am able to create a richness and nostalgia which is impossible to recreate through CD players and MP3's. It also opens up a visual aspect to the work, enabling myself to work with sculpture and architechture to create intricately designed tape loops which are constantly moving within the space.
